RED Build 21.4.1 & Qtake HD on a Laptop

What a great experience I had working with this new build and Qtake HD on my laptop.

1- Director Cameraman was using the viewfinder and the AC the on board monitor. As usual the script supervisor was not able to see the time code nor the mag and clip numbers. I set up Qtake to generate this information for her right on the screen plus they were framing for 4:3 and I was able to set up a 4:3 mask for the clients to see. (Producer was extremely pleased as his clients were).

2- I set the preferences for AUTO RECORD (amazing) it worked flawlessly, especially when I didn't know that they were running as I had no data from the camera. Great feature for directors who don't tell you when they are rolling but want to see playback. In addition the reverse pulldown feature worked without a hitch and I could record Pro Rez at 23.98 on my laptop. The new RED build seems to handle the issue I had in the past of needing a lock it box to get continuous time code from the RED even when they were reloading or playing back from the camera. I AM SO PLEASED!

3- Luminance Key - Works great! They had an SFX shot and we matched the previous shot to the present shot with a Black Background.

4- Edit Mode - I overheard the agency discussing if the shot would work (cut together) I did a cut (they didn't know) and showed it to them and they saw that it worked and it put them at ease. Director came over to me and complimented me on the work I did and appreciated what I did for him to make his vision come to be.

Vlado all your hard work in programming this software is realized everyday I use the Qtake HD system on set. Thanks!
